PDF Library Updated September 2026

The PDF Library has been expanded with five new research papers tracing the history of Cenél Eóghain and the R-BY76660 O’Neill lineage from early medieval Donegal through the development of the modern Neill family. The papers remain arranged chronologically, moving from broader dynastic history toward increasingly specific research on the ancestry of Jon Patraic Neill.

The new additions are:

  • Early Cenél Eóghain in Donegal: The Sons and Grandsons of Eóghan mac Néill, 465–600
  • The Dynasty of Niall Glúndub
  • Neill Families in Ulster During the Seventeenth Century
  • Seventeenth-Century Founders of the Quaker Neill Kindred of Lurgan Meeting in County Armagh, Ireland
  • The Neill Family Tradition: An Assessment of the Oral History and Research Findings

Together, these studies examine early Cenél Eóghain genealogies, the royal succession descending from Niall Glúndub, the geographical distribution of Neill families in Ulster, the formation of the Lurgan Quaker Neill kindred, and the evidence supporting or correcting the family’s inherited oral tradition.

Download links have also been added or refreshed, including a direct PDF link for The O’Neill Connections to the Portglenone, Co. Derry Area. The updated library now contains twenty-one items organized from ancient Irish origins to the documented history of the modern Neill family.
